Location

The Hinh Fitness Center is well-located very close to the centre of My An Beach. The location is correct on Google maps and it’s easily visible from the street, on the corner.

Facilities

This is a budget gym without aircon (reflected in the cheap price you’re paying!). You’ll find some overhead fans, although not especially effective ones. They rotate to cover a broad area but this means you can’t get a permanent draft on you. At 9am it was a hot and sweaty weights workout! The equipment is all fairly old, but of course, weights are weights!

Weights

The weights are untidily racked with half of them on the floor. You’ll find dumbbells up to at least 34kg. I say ‘at least’ because I saw a pair of unlabelled ones which looked heavier. You’ll see a couple of adjustable barbells, a preacher curls station and several bench press stations including loadable ones.

You’ll also find two inclined leg presses, a Smith machine and a squat rack.

For upper body work, there are pull up bars with cable crossovers and several cable stations, including a lat / tricep pulldown and row.

There are a good range of ageing resistance machines for both upper and lower body. These include a shoulder press, leg extension and a rear flies/delt machine.

Cardio

The cardio equipment is well located at the front of the building close to fresh air! It looks a bit more modern than the rest of the equipment and you’ll find 3 Spin bikes, 4 treadmills and two vibrating machines.

Summary of The Hinh Fitness

As budget gyms go, this one was the most expensive ones I found, although also the most centrally located. It’s 10k more expensive than the nearby Bina Gym and Fitness, and I’d say there’s little to separate them in terms of facilities. Personally I slightly preferred Bina as it was a bit more spacious and less messy when I was there. Aesthetically, The Hinh Fitness Center did little for me, but in terms of equipment, it was reasonable. Not my first choice but if you’re on a budget then it’ll do the job.

Alternatively, walk a bit further and pay 20k to use Star Gym Fitness a bit further away – it’s a lot more modern and enjoyable to use!
