Global Gym Bunny Update…
Hey all! It’s been a while so I thought I’d update you on life as a not so Global Gym Bunny in 2021.
Where am I?
With travel restrictions being what they are, I’ve been in the same country all year so far. Fortunately it’s one of my favourites and I’m happy to be “stuck” here in sunny Vietnam. This year’s travel has predominantly involved relocating from Danang to Ho Chi Minh city. Much as I love Danang, it decided to have its coldest winter in 16 years, shortly after some vicious typhoons. Being a Brit, I’ve had more than my fair share of rain and cold winters already, so it was time to get back to the sun. HCMC never fails to deliver on tropical heat.
Secondly I travelled to Con Dao, a small island to the south of Vietnam so I could get in some scuba-diving. No gyms on Con Dao means no gym blogs. It’s pretty though and island life was a welcome contrast to HCMC for a few days!
What Am I Doing?
I ask myself this regularly. 😀
Thankfully, I started teaching online shortly before the pandemic took off. I have therefore been in a good position to remain here throughout the lengthy lockdowns most of the world has been enduring. Vietnam’s heavy-handed approach is to contact-trace and lock down quickly at the first sign of any covid cases. As a result, I’ve been fortunate to live a normal life here – most of the time.
I’ve considered myself very lucky to remain here, and decided to set up a new site about teaching online.
