Hua Hin 51 Alley, Hua Hin

Facebook

Opening Hours: 7:00 – 22:00, 7 days a week

Cost: 95 baht per day, 399 for 6 days, 699 for a month, 2000 for 3 months.

I’m unclear whether the 6 days need to be taken consecutively though I would guess not. (If you find out, let me know!)

Location

Endorphin Fitness Club Hua Hin is situated slightly to the north of town, although still walkable from the main drag. Well, if you don’t mind the heat, anyway! Its position is correct on Google and it’s easy enough to spot.

Facilities

Endorphin Fitness Club is quite a small gym, but has the advantage of being air-conditioned, making it a bargain for the price on a day-rate. It  has a bit of everything, from cardio equipment to functional training and good range of free weights. Bear in mind you will not find regular resistance machines here, only the plate-loadable ones. So, a little more time-consuming to set up, but they do the job. 🙂

I was particularly impressed with the toilets here, or rather, toilet. There is one in the Ladies, as well as one shower. I’ll assume the boys get the same. The facilities were very clean and even had toilet paper!

The gym was clean and tidy and staff asked me to put all equipment back in its home after each use. Quite right too!

There wasn’t any music playing when I was in there which I thought was a shame. Personal preference I guess, but as my is iPod currently broken, I’d have liked some tunes.

Endorphin Fitness Club sells various drinks, including protein shakes for 60 baht!

Weights

As mentioned above, the only things missing here were the regular resistance machines where you can select the weight by moving the pin. Instead, you will find a good number of plate-loadable machines. These included an inclined squat / calf raise, pull down, leg extensions, row, bicep curl and shoulder press, amongst others.

Dumbbells go up to 40kg and were all stacked in an organised fashion. There are 3 weights benches next to them, where you can do you thing.

Additionally I spotted one Smith machine and 2 squat racks, one with a bench.

Functional Training

I found a reasonable range of functional training equipment at Endorphin Fitness Club. This included a set of monkey bars, looped resistance bands, 2 plyo boxes, a set of rings and a mat. Yes, only one mat that I could see.

Cardio

Endorphin Fitness Club Hua Hin has a good range of cardio equipment for its size. I counted 1 rower, 2 crosstrainers, 2 regular treadmills, 1 curved treadmill, 2 recumbent bikes, 2 Spin bikes and 1 upright.

Summary of Endorphin Fitness Club Hua Hin

Endorphin Fitness Club Hua Hin is a great value drop-in gym at 95 baht for a day. I’d aim to go at off-peak times due to its fairly small size. If you don’t need the old-skool pin-select resistance machines, then this place is great for a workout on budget, with all the comfort of air-conditioning.
